Asus Rt-ac54u Router Setup - Complete Guide

Asus RT-AC54U is a Dual-Band wireless router with expanded wireless coverage. This router has a USB port for printer networking and storage sharing.   • First, connect your router to an electrical outlet using the supplied AC adapter but make sure to turn it off.
  • Next, connect your computer to the router’s LAN port using the supplied network cable.
  • Check your DSL modem. If it is turned on, unplug its power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Take a standard Ethernet cable and connect one end of it to your router’s WAN port. Connect the other end to your modem.
  • Now, connect the modem power adapter to an electrical outlet and turn it on.
  • After a few minutes, turn on your router and check whether you have a stable Internet connection.

Configuring the web GUI:

  • On your Windows computer, open the default browser and manually enter your router’s IP address in the URL field. Hit the Enter key to access the router setup page.

  • Alternatively, open the Command Prompt app with administrator rights and type ‘ipconfig’ in the terminal. Hit Enter and locate your router’s IP address next to Default Gateway.
  • When prompted, enter the default credentials on the router login page.

  • To set up your Internet connection quickly, click the QIS tab from the left-side panel and select the Internet Setup sub-menu.

  • DHCP

  • PPTP
  • L2TP
  • If your Internet connection type is DHCP (Automatic IP), there is no need to enter your ISP credentials.
  • For the PPoE, PPTP, and L2TP connections, enter the username and password provided by your ISP.
