You can connect your computer to a high-speed Belkin router network over a wired or wireless connection. Usually, this router acts as a Wi-Fi router and provides connectivity to an internal host using the Wi-Fi function and external internet using the WAN link. Some of the Belkin router models can also be used as a repeater. Converting the Belkin router into a repeater is also known as bridging. Using the steps below to setup Belkin router as repeater

How To Convert A Belkin Router Into A Repeater?

  • First, check if your main router’s basic configurations are done successfully.
  • Here, Belkin router will act as a second router (repeater).

Step 1

  • Now, connect your main router to the computer using an Ethernet cable.
  • Make sure to plug the cable into one of the LAN ports of your router.
  • Switch on your computer, the main router.

Step 2

  • Launch the default web browser of your computer.
  • Type the IP Address of your main router in the search field.
  • Tap the Enter button.

Step 3

  • Now, enter your Belkin router’s credentials, and click Login.
  • The main router’s web interface page will open.

Step 4

  • Go to your main router’s Status page.
  • Click the LAN Settings tab.
  • Now, the LAN Settings window will open.
  • Locate the list titled MAC Address.
  • Note down your main router’s MAC Address displayed below the kist to setup Belkin router as repeater.

Step 5

  • Similarly, click the Channel and SSID tab and note down the SSID and the Channel number of your main router.

Step 6

  • After gathering these information, click the Wireless option followed by Wireless Bridging.

Step 7

  • In the displayed window, enable two options: Enable Wireless Bridging & Enable ONLY specific
  • Access Points to connect.

Step 8

  • In the AP1 text field, type the main router’s MAC Address.
  • In the text field titled AP2, enter the MAC address of your second router (Belkin).
  • Make sure to enter the MAC Addresses correctly.

Step 9

  • Click the Apply Changes button.
  • Now, to configure the second router (Belkin), perform the same steps from 1 to 9.
  • In step 6 make sure to configure the channel and SSID information of your main router.
  • After completing the configuration, reboot both the main and second routers.
  • The process of setup Belkin router as repeater is completed successfully.
