- Plug an Ethernet cable to the Comcast modem.
- Now, plug in the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Internet or WAN port of the Linksys router.
- Now, take another Ethernet cable and use it to connect the router and your computer for connecting Linksys router to Comcast cable modem.
- Press the Windows and R buttons together to launch the Run dialog box.
- Type cmd in the search section and click on the OK button.
- Now, type ipconfig in the Command Prompt window and hit the Enter key.
- Locate the IP address of the router in the Default Gateway section.
- Launch a browser on your computer and enter the IP address of the Linksys router in the address bar.
- The default username of the Linksys router is admin and the password is also admin.
- Enter the login credentials correctly and click on the OK button for connecting Linksys router to Comcast cable modem.
- When you are on the Linksys router’s setup page, click on the drop-down arrow next to the Internet Connection type. Then, choose the Automatic Configuration option --- DHCP option --- from the displayed list.
