D-Link DIR-880L is a wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Cloud router. Setting up this router is very simple.To know more about the D-Link DIR-880L router setup, keep reading the instructions given below.

  • First, unplug your DSL modem’s power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Place your router closer to your modem and computer.
  • Connect your modem to your router using a standard network cable. The network cable must be connected to your router’s WAN port.
  • Next, connect your computer and the router using a standard Ethernet cable. It must be connected to your router’s LAN port.
  • Connect your modem’s power cord to an electrical outlet and turn it on.
  • Plug your router’s power cord into another wall outlet and turn on the router.
  • After completing the hardware setup, go to your computer and open the default browser.
  • Enter your router’s IP address in the browser’s URL field and press the Enter key to access the router’s login portal.
  • If you are setting up the D-Link DIR-880L router for the first time, the Setup Wizard will start automatically.
  • Choose your desired language from the drop-down menu and follow the displayed instructions to configure your network and Wi-Fi settings.
  • If you wish to configure the network settings manually, open the login portal and enter the login credentials in the required fields.
  • Next, click the Log In button to access your router’s setup page.
  • On the D-Link router’s home page, click the Settings tab at the top and configure the wireless settings.
  • You will be asked to choose your Internet connection type.
  • Choose your Internet connection type from the following options.
  • Static IP
  • DHCP
  • Dynamic IP
  • PPPoE
  • After selecting your connection type, configure the Wireless Security settings to make your network more secure.
  • After configuring the necessary settings, click Save.
