D Link Router Red Power Light

Red light flashes on the D-Link router when there are connectivity issues. Proceed with the steps that are given to fix the D link router red power light issue, causing the red power light to blink.

  • Check whether there are any loose connections. Remove and reconnect all cables firmly.
  • Ensure that the modem is correctly connected to the router.
  • Verify the power cable for any defects. Replace it if needed.
  • Restart your router multiple times and check if the D link router red power light issue has been resolved.
  • Open your browser and enter the IP address of the router.
  • To find the IP address of the router, go to the Start menu and type Command Prompt.
  • Right-click on the Command Prompt option and select Run as administrator.
  • Type “ipconfig” in the Command Prompt window and hit the Enter key.
  • You can locate the IP address of the router in the Default gateway section.
  • Log in using the correct username and password to access the D-Link router’s page. The default username and password are admin.
  • Select the Setup tab and click Internet Setup.
  • Now, select the Edit option to change the settings.
  • Choose the Service Category as UBR with PCR.
  • You can select any options other than CBR. Then, click on the Apply button.
  • If the issue persists, then reset the D-Link router.
  • Locate the Reset button on the rear side of the router.
  • Press the Reset button using a pen and hold it for about 10 seconds.
  • Turn on the router after a few minutes, and all the settings will be turned back to the factory defaults.
  • Now, the red light blinking issue on the D-Link router will be fixed.
  • You can now reconfigure the router according to your preference.
  • Connect your devices to it and check if the D link router red power light issue has been resolved.
