- Make sure that you have connected the Netgear router and the modem appropriately.
- Connect the Netgear router to the wall outlet using the power adapter.
- Press the Power button to power up the Netgear router and wait until the power LED turns into solid green or white.
- Use a standard Ethernet cable to connect to the LAN port of the Netgear router.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port of the Netgear router.
- Now, check if both the LAN LED and the WAN LED are lit on your Netgear router.
- If everything is alright, remove the Ethernet cable and connect one end of the cable to the WAN port of the Netgear router.
- Connect the next end to the LAN port of the modem.
- Connect the Netgear router and the computer using another Ethernet cable.
- On your Windows, click the Start menu and type “network” in the search panel.
- From the search result, give a double-click on the Network and Sharing Center tab.
- It will direct you to the Network and Sharing Center window of the Windows Control Panel.
- Verify your connection from the displayed window to resolve ethernet ports not working on Netgear router.
- If the Internet connection is not established, restart your network devices with the correct sequence.
- You need to turn off and unplug the modem first.
- Next, turn off the Netgear router and the computer.
