Step-1: Know the MAC addresses

  • You have to know the MAC address of the devices you are going to add to the router.
  • On the Windows system, open the Command Prompt window and run the command “ipconfig/all” to find the particular computer’s MAC address.

Step-2: Computer and TP-Link router connection

  • Connect the computer to the TP-Link router and open the web browser.
  • Now, enter the router’s IP address and press Enter to open the router’s login page.
  • Once the page opens up, input the username and password to log in to the router’s configuration page.

Step-3: Add the MAC address

  • On the router page, click the Security menu on the left panel and then choose Firewall.
  • Tick the checkboxes of ‘Enable Firewall (the general firewall switch),’ ‘Enable MAC Address Filtering,’ and ‘Allow these PCs with enabled rules to access the Internet.’
  • Save the MAC filter settings and return to the main page.
  • Select Security again, choose MAC Filtering, and click the Add New button.
  • Now, enter the MAC address of the device you want to add, give a name, change the Status to ‘Enabled.’ Click Save to add.
