You can control the internet content at the router level itself, by configuring the router settings of your preference. Follow the below guidelines on how to block websites on Spectrum router.
Router to Computer connection
Connect the router’s LAN port and the computer using an Ethernet cable.
Or else, enable the Wi-Fi router network and connect the computer to the Wi-Fi network.
Router’s configuration page:
For RAC2V1A Wave 2 router model:
Note down the website URL you have to block on the router.
Open the web browser on your computer, then enter the IP address of the router in the address bar and press the Enter key.
Now, the router’s login page appears in the browser window, type the default Username and Password to access the router’s configuration page.
In case you changed the Username and Password, then use the new credentials.
When the Spectrumrouter’s homepage opens up, select the Firewall tab.
Next, click the Parental Controls menu on the left side navigation panel.
Enter the website URL you are blocking, in the URL bar, under the Add/Edit Filter division.
Following that, choose the number of Days you have to block the website by ticking the checkbox of each day or select Everyday to block the website on all days.
Under the Time section, you can select the time duration of a day for blocking the website; otherwise, click the All Day checkbox to block during the entire day.
Now, select the Apply button to save the filter on the router settings.
Then view the filter settings below the Display Filters section.
After blocking a website, again, follow the same steps to block another website.
If you want to unblock the website, then go to the same Parental Control page and select Remove beside the filter under Display Filters. If you still have a query on how to block websites on Spectrum router, click the call button available on the screen.
