How To Bridge Linksys Router With Modem?

If you are setting up a router in Bridge mode, some of the functions of the router will be disabled. In most cases, the Linksys router is set to Bridge Mode only when the ISP needs it to be done. When you want to connect two routers to a single network, you can enable Bridge mode. Bridge Mode will also disable the Guest feature on the router.

Bridge Linksys Router With Modem

  • First, plug in an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the router and connect the other end to your computer.
  • Connect the Linksys router to a power source and turn on the router and computer.
  • To find the IP address of the router, you can see the router’s label.
  • Otherwise, open Command Prompt on your computer and type ipconfig. Tap Enter.
  • You can find the IP address of the router in the Default gateway section.
  • Type the IP address in the address bar of your browser and hit Enter.
  • Type the login credentials of the router when prompted and click Sign in.
  • Go to the Router Settings section and select the Connectivity tab.
  • Click the Edit link under Internet Settings.
  • Select the Bridge Mode option in the Connection Type drop-down list to Bridge Linksys router with modem.
  • Set the required IP address configuration for your Linksys Router.
  • Click the Apply button after making the changes.
  • Now, you have enabled Bridge mode in a router.
  • Connect the router and modem using an Ethernet cable.
  • When the router detects the Internet connection, the Internet Restored prompt will be displayed on the screen.
  • Suppose the prompt doesn’t display, power cycle the router and turn it on after 30 seconds. Also, restart your computer.
  • Now, you can log in to the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page.
