- First, unpack the router and remove the packing materials.

- Connect your modem’s power cord to an electrical outlet and turn on the modem.
- Plug the router’s power adapter into an electrical outlet and turn on the router.
- Wait for your router’s LEDs to stop blinking.
- You have now completed half of the Linksys WRT100 router setup.
- On your computer, open the default browser and enter your router’s default IP address in the URL field. Hit Enter to access your router’s web-based utility.
- If prompted, enter admin in the Password field and click the OK button.
- You can identify the default IP address from your router’s label.
- Also, you can identify it from your computer. If you are using Windows OS, use the Command Prompt app. For Macintosh users, use the Terminal app.
- Once you have logged on to your router’s web-based utility, configure the basic settings.
