  • First, connect the supplied antenna to your router and connect the power adapter to an electrical outlet.
  • Next, connect your DSL modem and the router’s WAN port using the supplied network cable.
  • Power up your modem, router, and computer.
  • On your Windows computer, click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray and choose your wireless network name (SSID) from the displayed list.
  • You can identify your router’s SSID and network key from its label located at the backside.
  • After selecting your wireless network name, enter the network password to connect your computer wirelessly to the router.
  • If your computer couldn’t connect to the router wirelessly, use a standard Ethernet cable to connect them. This cable should be plugged into your router’s LAN port.

  • If the setup wizard detects PPPoE as your Internet connection type, you will be asked to enter the login credentials given by your ISP.
  • If you wish to configure the router settings manually, click on the Manual configuration link at the bottom of the Smart Wi-Fi Setup screen.
  • Choose your Internet connection type and secure your Wi-Fi network by changing the SSID and network key.
  • Create a router password and follow the on-screen prompts until you see the ‘Your router is set up!’ message.
  • If necessary, create your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account and complete the Linksys WRT1200AC router setup.
