Linksys WRT120N is a Wireless-N Broadband router that provides seamless Wi-Fi connectivity. This router also functions as a wireless access point, switch, and your network's DHCP server. The Linksys WRT120N router setup is quite simple and easy if you follow the quick steps given below.

  • You have to check whether your DSL modem is working properly before starting the setup. To do so, connect it directly to your computer and check the Internet connection.
  • Once you have completed checking the modem, disconnect the Ethernet cable and power adapter connected to it.
  • Unpack your Linksys router and connect it to your modem using the supplied network cable. This cable should be plugged into your router's WAN port.
  • Next, connect your router and the computer using a standard Ethernet cable. The Ethernet cable from your computer's Ethernet port should be plugged into your router's LAN port.
  • Turn on the modem, router, and computer.
  • Check if the router's LEDs are lit.

  • On your computer, launch the default browser and enter your router's IP address in the URL field. Hit the Enter key to access the router setup page.

  • If you have selected PPPoE as your Internet connection type, enter the login credentials provided by your ISP.
  • For a cable internet service provider, you have to clone the MAC address of the main computer on the router.
  • To secure your Wi-Fi network, change the default SSID and network key.
  • After configuring all the necessary settings, click the Save Settings button.
