Issue: Linksys WRT32X Losing Internet Connection

Linksys WRT32X is a dual-band wireless router built for gaming with Killer Prioritization Engine. You might frequently face connection issues with the router, and there could be several reasons for it. Step 1: Reduce wireless interference

Make sure that you have not placed your router on the ground. Place it close to the working area to avoid network interference. Also, remove any wireless gadgets near the router to reduce the wireless interface.

Step 2: Change your router’s wireless channel.

  • First, connect your router and computer using a standard Ethernet cable and then access the router’s web interface.
  • To do so, open the default browser and enter the router’s IP address in the URL field. Press the Enter key. It will direct you to the router’s login portal.
  • You can identify the router’s IP address from the label attached to the router’s rear side.
  • Enter your login credentials on the login portal and click Submit to access your router administration interface.
  • Click the Wireless tab and navigate to the Basic Wireless Settings submenu.
  • Select Manual and click the Channel drop-down menu to select your required channel. It is suggested to choose a channel from 6 to 1 or 11 to get better Internet connectivity.
  • Click Save Settings to save your configured settings and restart your router. Check if the Linksys WRT32X losing internet connection problem has been resolved. If the problem persists, move on to the next step.

Step 3: Check your router’s firmware

Access the router administrative interface to check the firmware version. If the router is running on an old firmware version, update it to the latest version.

You can download the latest firmware for your Linksys WRT32X router from the official Linksys site. After completing the download, upload it during the firmware update. Once you have installed the latest updates, restart your router.

Step 4: Change your router’s SSID

  • Navigate to the router’s web-based setup page and click the Wireless tab at the top.
  • Select the Basic Wireless Settings submenu and select the Manual option.
  • Enter your new SSID in the Network Name (SSID) field and click the Save Settings button.
  • Now, you will be logged out if you have connected your computer through Wi-Fi.
  • Reconnect your computer to the wireless network and check if the problem has been resolved.
