How To Configure Your Linksys Wrt54g V1.1 Router Setup?
Linksys WRT54G is a Wireless G broadband router that can serve as a three-in-one networking device. This router allows your entire network to share a DSL or a high-speed cable Internet connection. It has four full duplex 10/100 Ethernet ports. Let’s now look into the Linksys WRT54G v1.1 router setup in detail. There are two stages in this router setup. In the first one, which is the hardware setup, you will be plugging in all the cables. In the second stage, you will be logging into the web interface of the router. You will then be enabling wireless Internet for all your devices.
Stage 1: Hardware Part Of The Setup
The first step will be connecting the router and the modem. So, plug the Ethernet cable from your DSL modem or cable into the router’s Internet port.
The second step is to connect the computers. The router has four Ethernet ports. These will be labeled from 1 to 4. All of these ports function identically. Now, you have to connect your computer(s) to the router’s Ethernet ports in any order (if there is more than one computer).

Now, wait for a few minutes patiently until you have an Internet connection on all the computers.
Stage 2: Logging In And Wi-Fi Setup
Open a standard web browser on any computer connected to the router. In the address bar of the browser, type 192.168.1.1. This is the router’s IP address.
Log into the router using the following credentials:
Username: (leave it blank).
In case the above credentials fail to work, use admin for both the Username and Password.

It is now time to name your network. So, choose an appropriate name (SSID) for your wireless network. Avoid providing any private information in any of the fields.
Let the rest of the settings remain as they are (defaults).
Click on the Save Settings button.
The next task to be completed is setting up the security for your network. So, click the Wireless Security tab.
In the Security Mode field, select the WPA2 Personal option.
In the WPA Shared Key field, type in a strong password. It should contain a minimum of eight characters.
Finally, click on the Save Settings button.
