• Remove the protective film from the router.

• Place the router closer to your computer.

Step 3 - Connection Between Your Modem & Router

• Take an Ethernet cable and connect one of its ends to the router’s Internet port.

Step 4 - Connection Between Your Computer & Router

• If you are setting up the router for the first time, the Netgear genie screen will appear automatically on the screen.

Step 8 - Router Firmware Update

• If prompted for a firmware update, select the Yes option.
• Note: Do not turn off the router and computer while updating the router’s firmware.

• Once the firmware has been updated, you will see the router’s dashboard.
• You can customize the settings as required.
• Most importantly, you have to change the default router password.
• Navigate to the Basic tab and click the Wireless option.
• Choose your preferred security option.

• Create a new passphrase (password) and click Apply.
• You can even change the router’s admin password if necessary.
