- You need to connect your Netgear N600 router to the modem first..
- Make sure you have disconnected the device power cords from the electrical outlet.
- Plug one end of the Ethernet cable in to the WAN port on the Netgear N600 router and the other end in to the modem.
- Plug one end of another Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the Netgear N600 router and the other in to the LAN port on the Mac computer.
- Power on all the devices and wait until the connection is established.
- Identify the SSID and Network Key of the Netgear N600 router.
- t is available on the label located at the backside of the Netgear router.
- On your Mac desktop, click the Networking icon, followed by the Netgear option.
- Open the default browser and type the Netgear N600 router's IP address in the URL.
- You can identify the IP address from the user guide or manual that comes along with the product.
- Otherwise, it will be printed on the label at the backside of the Wi-Fi router.
- Type "admin" in the Username field.
- Type "password" in the Password field to log in to your Netgear web interface.
- After entering the login credentials, click the Take me to the Internet button.
- In the Authentication pop-up window, reenter your login credentials and click the "Log In" button.
- If you avail Netgear Genie, it will assist you in setting up Netgear N600 router on your Mac.
- On the Netgear N600 router web-interface, click the Advanced tab and select Setup Wizard.
- Click the Yes radio button followed by Next.
- Now, the Netgear router detects the Internet connection and prompts you to log in again.
