Online D Link Router Setting Up Steps

  • Before the online D link router setup, connect it to the DSL Internet modem.
  • The network cable from the Internet modem should be connected to the router’s Internet port.
  • Next, connect your router to the Windows/Mac computer using a standard Ethernet cable.
  • Turn on all the devices.
  • If you wish to connect your router and the computer wirelessly, identify the Wi-Fi network credentials from the label attached to the router’s backside.
  • Once you have turned on the computer, turn on the Wi-Fi button and connect to your wireless network.
  • Next, close all the running programs and open the default browser.
  • Enter the router’s IP address in the URL field and press the Enter key to access the router’s login portal.

  • For Windows users, open the Command Prompt app with administrator rights.
  • In the Command Prompt window, type ‘ipconfig’ and press the Enter key.

  • For Macintosh users, click the Apple menu available at the top-left corner of the screen.
  • Select the System Preferences option from the pull-down menu.
  • Click the Network icon and select the Advanced button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Click the Router tab and note down the D-Link router’s IP address.
  • On the router’s login portal, enter the default login credentials in the required fields and click the Login or Submit button to access the router’s settings page.
  • If you are setting up the router for the first time, a setup wizard will appear on the screen.
  • Using the Internet Connection Setup Wizard, you can configure the basic router settings with the on-screen prompts.
  • Otherwise, choose the WAN Setup tab from the left-side panel and select your connection type from the Connection Type drop-down menu underneath WAN Setup.
  • Change the default SSID and password for your wireless network.
  • Save the changes and log out from the web setup page.
