  • If you have not turned on your modem, turn it on.
  • In case there are any issues with the Internet service provider, resolve them first.
  • If the LAN port to which you have connected the Ethernet cable is not working, connect the cable to another port on your router.
  • Disable Wi-Fi and connect the Ethernet cable again.
  • If more devices are connected to the router, you may face such issues.
  • Disconnect other devices from the network and check whether the Spectrum router ethernet not working issue is resolved.
  • Examine the Ethernet cable and if you find it to be defective, replace it. Make sure to connect the Ethernet cable firmly between the devices.
  • Again, if you are not able to connect via Ethernet, verify whether you are able to connect wirelessly.

  • If you have connected the router to a Windows computer, open Settings.
  • Go to the Network & Internet section and select the Ethernet tab on the left panel of the screen.
  • If you have enabled a metered connection, your Internet connection will be limited.
  • Also, if any firewall or security software is blocking the network connection, you can temporarily disable it.
  • Now, go to the web-based setup page of the router and check the router settings.
  • Update the firmware of the router if it is outdated.
  • If the issue persists, reset the router to fix the problem. This will turn all the router settings to factory defaults.
  • If you are still not able to connect to the network through Ethernet connection, open Device Manager on your computer.
  • Expand the Network Adapters section and right-click on the Ethernet adapter. Select the Uninstall option from the displayed list.
  • When prompted for confirmation, click OK to uninstall the adapter.
  • Now, restart the computer to install the Ethernet adapter automatically.
  • Again, check if the Spectrum router ethernet not working issue has been solved.
