The below section explains how to setup TP-Link TL-WR710N router process in both the router and repeater modes.
Step 1: Physical Setup
Connect the router to your modem using an Ethernet cable.
You can connect your router to the computer or mobile phone either over a wireless or wired connection.
Using the Ethernet cable, connect your router directly to the computer.
Turn on your modem, router, and computer.
Wait for your computer to detect the connected network.
Once it is detected, the computer will be automatically connected to it.
Make sure that your modem and the TP-Link router are connected securely.
Now, enable the Wi-Fi option on your router.
Turn on your computer or mobile phone, then enable or turn on the Wi-Fi feature on it.
Select the TP-Link router’s SSID from the list.
Enter your network password in the given field and tap or click Connect.
Once your computer or mobile phone is connected to the TP-Link router’s network, begin the web-based configuration.
Step 2: Web-Based Configuration
To perform the web-based configuration, first you need to access the Management page of your TP-Link router. To know-how in detail, follow the below instructions.
On your device’s web browser, type tplinklogin.net or 192.168.0.254 and tap Enter.
Enter admin in both the User Name and Password fields.
Now, the router’s management page will open.
Click the Quick Setup tab followed by the Next button.
Select the Wireless Router option on the Working Mode screen.
Choose your WAN Connection type from the suggestion and click Next.
Based on your connection type, the remaining steps of the setup will vary.
Perform the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
Once the setup is completed, your router will restart. Then try to connect your device to its network.

Step 1: Physical setup
Configure your root router first.
Gather the following information about your root router: LAN, SSID, Encryption type, and Passphrase.
Enable the Wi-Fi option on your TP-Link router and the root router.
Now, using an Ethernet cable, connect your computer to the TP-Link router.
Once you have done the physical setup successfully, move on to the web-based configuration.
Step 2: Web-Based Configuration
Open a web browser on your computer.
Go to the TP-Link router’s login page.
Enter your router’s default credentials in the given fields and click OK.
On the main screen of the router, click the Quick Setup tab.
Choose the Repeater option followed by Universal Repeater.
Click the Survey button.
Now, a list of AP available within your router’s range will be displayed on the screen.
Choose your root router’s SSID from the list.
Click the Connect command line.
Enter your root router’s details in the given fields and click Next.
Once the configuration is completed, you’ll be asked to reboot your router.
