Verizon Router Port Forwarding

Port forwarding is a networking feature which permits computer over the Internet to connect to another device within the network. Carry out the guidelines given below to activate Verizon router port forwarding.

Finding IP Address

  • To find the IP address of the router, press the Windows and R keys together to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type “cmd” and select OK to open the Command Prompt window. Type ipconfig | findstr /i "Gateway" and press Enter.
  • The IP address of the Verizon router will be displayed in the Command Prompt window.
  • Launch your browser and enter the IP address of the router for Verizon router port forwarding.

Setting up Static IP Address

  • Set a static IP address in the device to which you are forwarding the port.

Configure Port Forwarding

  • Enter the username and password of the Verizon router to log in to the configuration page.
  • Select the Firewall Settings tile. Then, click Yes when prompted for Warning.
  • Navigate to the Port Forwarding tab on the left panel.
  • Click the Add button on the bottom of the screen for Verizon router port forwarding.
  • In the “Add Port Forwarding Rule” window, enter the correct info about your device.
  • Choose the Protocol, WAN connection Type, and click Apply.
  • After the changes are saved, you can view the applied settings at the bottom of the page.
  • Now, Port Forwarding is enabled on your Verizon router.
  • In some other cases, click Settings from the router configuration page.
  • Navigate to the Advanced tab and click Continue.
  • Turn on the Port Forwarding toggle to the ON position.
