- Use an Ethernet cable to establish a connection between the Ethernet port of the Linksys router and the rear port of the Xbox Live gaming console.
- Now, turn on the Xbox Live gaming console, select Settings -> System -> Network Settings, and select the name of the wireless network.
- Select the Configure Network option and choose the section that contains IP Settings, IP Addresses, Subnet Mask, and Gateway fields.
- This will open the Edit IP Settings screen.
- Select the Manual option followed by the IP Address option.
- Type your static IP address in the Enter an IP address field and select the Done option. Make sure the IP address is within the subnet of your Linksys router.
- Now, the Edit IP Settings screen will appear again.
- Select the Subnet Mask option, type your subnet mask in the Enter a subnet mask field, and select the Done option.
- Select the Gateway option on the Edit IP Settings screen.
- After providing your gateway in the Enter a gateway address field, select Done.
- Select the Done option in the Edit IP Settings screen.
- Go back to the Network Settings screen and select the Test Xbox Live option.
- Once the test is over, you will see the connection status of Network, Internet, and Xbox Live.
